Photography: Low light fire photography at L’Olivier

Photography: Low light fire photography at L’Olivier

Recently, I was asked by L’Olivier Cabaret to come and shoot a night photoset of their fire dancing performance. This presents a special challenge to a photographer being that I was shooting in a low light environment with rapidly moving light sources (the fire) with a very fast action sequence. Using a 50mm 1.8/f prime Canon lens, flash off and set to action mode, I was able to capture the intensity of the fire and the dancers in motion. Slight blur effects happen naturally with these subjects. No editing was made to these photos.
